One of the artistes linked on the Artistes page above is Penelope Swales. She is also a Facebook friend and posted the following link to an excellent article by The Australian

Penelope commented that few know or wish to face the reality of the law applying to the original colonisers of Australia, or the effect of that ignorance.

So as Australia Day rapidly approaches perhaps alternative names of "Invasion Day" and "Amnesia Day" should be considered.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Penelope was also busy notifying us of an interesting article on the Hazaras, refugees from Afghanistan & Pakistan

 ---------------------------------------------------------------
Lastly I draw your attention to the following link which simply leaves me too angry to comment on as it identifies the hypocrisy of Australian law and belief.

New Year's Greetings to Everyone.
An Australian Greek Friend shared the delightful tit-bit that in serif script 2013 viewed in the mirror reads ԐrOS,the Greek God of love...peace to all

Today's programme did not intentionally aim to highlight some of our wonderful women performers but as the music progressed  that is what it ended up being...a showcase of our wonderful Australian female talent ... and because of lack of time many more were sadly unable to be played...next time next time, the year has only just started!

I particularly hope that some of the overseas readers
of the blog will come forward and say hello.
I notice that we have in the last week had viewers from
many places including China, Russia, USA, and Turkey to name but a few.

Our opening theme song from the Spinners was not idly
chosen....we are all part of the family of man no matter
where we live, our nationality or the hue of our skin....

Hello and Welcome.

Good News & praise due to Australia Post who delivered an incorrectly addressed New Year's card. All they had to go on was my name, unit & street number together with the incorrectly spelt street name and state.

Here are some more photographs of our river, despite the encroaching heat still full of water.

Darned things would not stay motionless long enough for the phone to photograph them in focus! Looks good in 3D though.

Compare to the above and October 2012 photograph and note how the grass is drying off. The water is not reflecting the blue either. Can't have it perfect all the time.
